Petrina Dawn Tan holds a Masters of Art in Collaborative Theatre Production and Design from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London.

 

She practises Scenography (Space and Lighting) and has conceptualised a range of projects including circus, community music festivals and installations with the element of audience participation.

 

As an artist, my goal is to continuously explore how lights fully integrate with space in Scenography; advocating seamless synthesis of the visual, experiential and spatial composition of performance.



She recently won Best Set at The Straits Times Life Theatre Awards 2020 for her work on The Truth (Singapore Repertory Theatre).

Her set and lighting design on Recalling Mother (Checkpoint Theatre) has been seen internationally at Esplanade The Studios: 2016, Singapore, Brisbane Festival 2016 and Oz Asia 2017, Adelaide. 

 

A firm believer in education and collaboration, Petrina also makes time for design mentorship and gives workshops for arts programmes, festivals and schools.
